Large Zebra Rock Sphere on Stand 620g

Zebra Rock, a truly unique gemstone, is estimated to be around 600 million years old, dating back to the Precambrian era. The only known deposits worldwide are found exclusively in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.

This remarkable stone is composed of fine-grained siliceous argillite (a hardened siltstone or claystone) and is famous for its striking rhythmic red bands and spots, which stand out against a pale background. These distinctive patterns are believed to have formed from sediment deposited in calm or deep water, with the red coloration caused by iron oxide.
