Nantan Meteorite 1516 China

This iron meteorite might have been observed in 1516, yet the fragments were not retrieved until the 1950’s. When a meteor such as this exploded in the atmosphere before striking the ground, the strewn field over there was 17 miles long by 5 miles wide.
